Detailed 11 Days Bhutan Itinerary

Day 1: IXB/NJP/Siliguri to Phuentsholing – Arrival & Immigration

Arrive at Jaigaon and proceed towards Phuentsholing, the gateway to Bhutan. Complete the required immigration formalities with assistance and explore the local surroundings. In the evening, enjoy a leisurely stroll through the market before returning to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Phuentsholing to Thimphu – Scenic Drive & Sightseeing

After breakfast, begin your journey towards Thimphu, Bhutan's capital. En route, visit Zangtopelri Lhakhang and Kharbandi Monastery, Wankha Waterfall, Gedu dam view point. Continue through scenic mountain roads and valleys before reaching Thimphu. After hotel check-in, spend the evening exploring the local market.

Day 3: Thimphu City Tour

Enjoy a full day of sightseeing in Thimphu. Visit the National Memorial Chorten, Takin Preserve Centre, National Library, National Textile Museum, Buddha Point, Painting School, Tashichho Dzong and Simply Bhutan. Later, enjoy some free time at the local market before returning to the hotel.

Day 4: Thimphu to Punakha – Dochula Pass & Sightseeing

Travel from Thimphu to Punakha through the beautiful Dochula Pass. Stop at the 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens and enjoy views of the surrounding Himalayan landscape. Continue towards Punakha and visit the impressive Punakha Dzong, Punakha Suspension Bridge and Chimi Lhakhang.

Day 5: Punakha to Phobjikha – Valley Exploration

Proceed towards the peaceful Phobjikha Valley. Surrounded by mountains and open meadows, Phobjikha offers a relaxing break from the busy travel route. Visit Gangtey Goempa and the Black-Necked Crane Information Centre before enjoying the tranquil surroundings of the valley.

Day 6: Phobjikha to Paro – Enroute sightseeing

After breakfast, check out and drive towards Paro.

En route, visit Lamperi Botanical Park and Tamchog Iron Bridge. Enjoy the changing Himalayan scenery during the drive before continuing towards Paro.

On arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing or exploring the surroundings at your own pace.

Day 7: Paro – Tiger's Nest Monastery Hike

Today is one of the major highlights of your Bhutan trip. After breakfast, head towards Taktshang Monastery, popularly known as Tiger's Nest. The monastery is dramatically located on a cliff above the Paro Valley and requires an approximately six-hour round-trip hike.

Day 8: Paro – Haa Valley & Chele La Pass Excursion

Day 9: Paro Local Sightseeing
